 This week we tackle the rear porch skirting, it is currently covered in particle board, and the weather and moisture are rotting it, it needs to be replaced.

Once we take off the particle board, it is evident that the framing wood is also rotted and needs to be replaced (the bottom plate is completed rotted away)

We must reframe the walls using pressure treated wood, and then install new plywood and house wrap.

We install metal flashing at the bottom of the wall to protect against moisture, and finish it off with spare vinyl siding that we found in the garage.

We then paint the stucco, vinyl siding and brick along the basement area to match the color of the house.

Lastly we address some moisture issues at the back door, water has been getting in under the door, so we have to replace the plywood at the back door, and decide that we should move the deck away from the house as it was higher than the bottom of the door and this was contributing to the issue.
